The Superhero in Me!
A group to explore how neurodiversity makes us great!
The Superhero in Me! is a social group for neurodivergent children ages 4-7 years old. It is designed to offer them a space to learn more about their unique strengths along side their peers, with caregiver education and support taking place simultaneously. The social skills group and parental education will be led by an interdisciplinary team of developmental psychologist, Sarah Doyle, and an occupational therapist from Adapt & Grow.
Skills Facilitated:

Peer play skills (turn-taking, making friends, understanding social cues, etc.)

Emotional regulation (recognizing and expressing emotions, managing frustration, coping with sensory sensitivities, etc.)

Identifying personal strengths and challenges

Understanding sensory processing

Growth mindset (positive self-talk, the power of yet, etc.)
The Details:

Group starts July 11th and continues for 6 consecutive weeks on Tuesdays ending on August 15th.

Sessions are hosted at 7400 Beaufont Springs Drive, Suite 300, Richmond, 23225.

Open to children ages 4-7

Group size is held to 7 children.
Weekly parent education will be held for 30 minutes during each session! These sessions are designed to provide the targeted support and education on how to expand upon that week's activities.
